umm forgive me if i wasnt supposed to, but i looked up the book you want me to do, Beloved, and i just read like a small plot summary of it. it was all very blurb like so it didnt give away any details or anything.
but...from the thing i read, it sounds slightly..creepy. what with the whole 'zombie' concept..you know, the girl who was meant to be dead becuase her mother killed her coming back.. to life?. and i'm not particularly sure i want to read a creepy, give-you-nightmares kinda book. correct me if i'm wrong, please.
Tricia, Its absolutely fine that you've done some research on the book - in fact I think that's a very good idea. I think that you'd find that the book is a lot less creepy than this description - but if its concerning you then sure - let's think of something else... Try Peter Carey's collection of short stories called War Crimes or some early Isabelle Allende. See how that goes and let me know if its not working for you...
