Over the next couple of weeks I will be moving all the instructions for your tasks to be completed on the blogs to this blog. If you have questions obviously you can ask me in person but you can also post comments on my blog and put up posts on yours. That means that if you are working on something over the weekend, you can still get feedback from me or from other people in the class.
To start here is a list of basic advice for posting...
1. It is generally best to prepare longer posts in word first before posting so that if the internet or your computer go down for any reason you don't lose your work.
2. There is a save as draft function - if you are writing a long post or if you just aren't sure if you want it on public display yet - save as a draft.
3. I can look at and comment on drafts if you want that sort of feedback or you can post your documents and ask for feedback from other people in the class reading your blog - this is how a lot of academics get "peer review" of their work before publication in magazines and so on.
4. While blogging is used as a kind of diary, it can also be used for more serious purposes - that is part of what we will be doing.
5. You should also continue to use your blog for the more personal journal writing and communicating with friends that you have been doing so far.
