Censorship

I don't like censorship. I rage against censorship. Why then do I find myself having to do it? You've heard of the clash of civilizations? This is the clash of ethics...

One set of ethics tells me free expression and all that is a good in and of itself. Another tells me that there is a time and place for "banter"- and student's working blogs aren't that place.

So...what do I do faced with this painful moral dilema?

In the end I decide that if people can't decide for themselves that something might be going over the line from banter to another much less pleasant B-word then i have to decide for them.

Paternalism? (Maternalism?) ...Perhaps...but then most ethical questions don't have simple answers do they?
