Book Reports for Term Four

Get ready for the final book report!

You need to choose a book that you will be reading for pleasure - for enjoyment!

The assignment will be due towards the end of Term Four - but start now so that you have it finished in time...

For your actual response to the book you need to be able to explain what it was that made the book pleasurable. (In the case of you choosing a book that you think will be enjoyable but its not...then you need to explain why you thought it would be and why it isn't...)

Your response can take any form you wish...three or four paragraphs that discuss the book and what was enjoyable, a creative response of some sort, a piece of creative writing that expresses your enjoyment, or even a brief discussion with me on the book. What will be assessed is your ability to express specifically what it is about the book that was enjoyable.

You may choose a piece of fiction, non-fiction, book of short-stories, biography or autobiography or a graphic novel. If you have any doubts that the book you have chosen will be suitable, please check with me. If you are wanting to examine a very long work which you think you may not finish in time - check with me first but that will probably be alright.

Any questions? Comment on the blog or send me an email...

hey miss,
Just wondering if i could, instead of writing an essay-like book report, if i could do something a bit more creative and tell the story from Lin's point of view, when she is kidnapped and tortured by Mr. Motley. If i can do this, how may words should i be shooting for?
